Creating a welcoming space and guiding your growth
I value a place in which you feel safe and comfortable
Helping you create an environment in which you can sit with warmth, trust, and self-compassion is one of the most important pieces of therapeutic work. A co-created safe space will help you open up to your experiences and feelings to move you toward growth.
I value your wisdom to heal
Life can leave wounds that may impact our lives for many years. I believe that we all have inside what we need to heal and solve our own problems. It may at times simply take some reflection from another perspective to shed light on your strengths and inner wisdom that help peel back the layers that keep you from living abundantly.
I value our common humanity and everyone’s right to being, loving, and thriving
We are all humans striving to make it through life. Everyone is welcomed and accepted for who they are both in my personal life and my practice. I believe that love is love no matter how it manifests in our lives and that our human diversity is our mutual strength. I will treat you with compassion, respect, and dignity as we create a powerful therapeutic relationship where you will begin to see yourself in new ways to engage your creativity and solve your pressing issues.
A bit about me
My call to become a therapist came through a divorce with a lot of hard work to heal my own trauma wounds and improve the quality of my relationships. Shining light on all my parts and pulling them together in new ways is bringing positive changes within myself and social life. I am now living a rewarding life filled with love, joy, and pleasure. It became clear through this journey that my story of transformation could help others find their way to the life they want to live. I am happy to be guiding similar experiences with my clients.
I earned a Master of Arts degree in clinical psychology from Saybrook University, am in pursuit of an SU doctoral degree in psychology with a clinical psychology specialization, and hold a master’s degree in organization systems renewal (OSR) from Seattle University. Focused training includes an extensive externship certificate in emotionally focused (EFT) couple therapy and a current series of trainings to specialize in human sexuality. I utilize an integrative approach that includes narrative, strengths-based, cognitive-behavioral, and EFT therapies with many other tools to help clients in the best way possible.
My credentials include Florida mental health counselor intern [#IMH21354] guided by Florida State approved supervisor, Dr. Emy Tafelski, LMFT (MT3066) and a Washington State licensed mental health counselor associate (LMHCA). I have worked with individuals through medical crises and illness (cancer, diabetes, MS, etc.), relationship challenges, trauma and its affects, work-life balance, and a variety of life transitions. Among my competencies are healing trauma wounds, depression and anxiety, loss and grief, chronic illness management, professional development, relationships and sexuality, and the many opportunities to discover meaning through some of life’s most difficult trials.
My heart holds a special place for guiding middle-aged women toward reclaiming their sexual selves, couples toward expanding their relationship and reigniting their passion, executives reaching their highest professional and personal functioning, and those who identify with LGBTQIA+ toward overcoming their unique identity and social challenges, building and sustaining healthy relationships, and living into their wholeness.
Thank you for taking the time to read about me and my practice. If you would like to meet and discover how we might work together, please contact our client care coordinator to schedule your initial appointment. I hope to meet you sometime soon to get you started on building the life of your dreams!
