I strive to work with people in reaching their personal, professional, social and relationship goals by providing an environment where you experience acceptance, support, and care.
It is my priority to offer you unconditional support and positivity in order to create a space for deep exploration of thoughts, feelings and experiences in order to heal and grow.
Reaching out for help and beginning your counseling journey takes a tremendous amount of bravery and introspection, and can be the first step in finding your authentic self and living a more fulfilling and enjoyable life.
I also believe in the power that our connections with others have over our mental, physical and spiritual state.
Healthy relationships, whether social, sexual or romantic, are vital to a person’s emotional and spiritual well-being, and helping you to explore and examine these connections is an integral part of therapy with me. Together we will work to further understand how you relate to the world and those around you. This can help you shift thoughts, behaviors, and relationships in a tremendously impactful way. It can help you move toward your best life and highest potential. As an LGBTQIA+ ally, I am also passionate about working with and discussing all types of relationships and experiences in an authentic and supportive way.
Additionally, I find passion in working with those who find themselves struggling with their faith and how it fits into their day to day experiences. Whether it be the past or present, your religious and spiritual experiences may have shaped the way you see the world and effect the choices you make in life. Helping you find ways to begin forging a new relationship with your faith in a way that feels aligned with how you want to live life, or even cut ties with it completely if you see fit, brings me tremendous joy.
I hope to offer you strategies to move confidently toward your goals, even when it is a bit scary.
Though we all experience anxiety, depression, low self confidence, anger and other uncomfortable thoughts and feelings, teaching you strategies to meet, and fully process these emotions is a key component of our work together. If you are ready to challenge learned ways of thinking, coping and behaving in order to improve your personal self image and internal happiness, I am eager to walk with you in your journey, extend a hand and offer encouragement, support and acceptance. My ultimate hope is that at the culmination of our time together, you will have reached the highest possible level of self understanding, self acceptance, and self love, and/or your deepest, most connected relationship.
I value the therapeutic relationship between client and counselor and feel that this connection is essential to productive therapy. If you resonate with what you have read here I invite you to call us or email us to set up an appointment. I am ready to meet you with acceptance and care and begin the journey to your best life.
The nitty gritty:
I earned my Master of Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Bachelor of Psychology from Kean University. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (MH19068) in the state of Florida. I am also a Licensed Associate Counselor in the state of New Jersey.
I’ve also had the opportunity to present information regarding healing practices in Asian cultures at the American Counseling Association Conference, which opened my eyes to the importance of understanding each client not only clinically, but also culturally and spiritually.
My enthusiasm in this field grew from my passion to understand the importance and impact of human connection and to support others in their journey to living authentically. In my personal time I enjoy lifting weights and working on my physical health, which also helps to rejuvenate my mental health and provides relaxation. Collecting plants is also a way I practice self-care, as well as spending time in nature any way that I can. In the future I hope to be able to incorporate a therapy dog into my work, but until then I’ll be satisfied with petting any dog I might come across!
