Dr. Emy Tafelski, LMFT (she/her/hers) believes you’re incredible just as you are.
A therapist of 10+ years, Emy is the founder of Me-Therapy, a safe, inclusive therapy practice in St. Petersburg, Florida. At Me-Therapy, she offers wholeness and authenticity-focused private therapy where you are free to fully be and explore who you are. Since 2013, Emy has helped hundreds of people of all lifestyles and lovestyles craft lives that feel right to them.
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with the state of Florida (MT3066), Emy pulls intuitively from focusing-oriented therapy, psychosynthesis, mindfulness, embodiment, and advanced training in emotionally focused couples therapy (EFT). Emy’s also known for creating The Whole Person Therapist™ model, an approach that supports therapists in doing their own personal therapy and healing work for themselves, empowering them to more empathetically meet clients where they are without judgment or shame.
Emy holds a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Sofia University and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Psychology from Saybrook University, with a specialization in consciousness, spirituality, and integrative health. Her doctoral dissertation, “Reweaving the Tapestry of Self,” explores the rebuilding of the Self after trauma and loss, and its focus on the value of reweaving one’s life through soulful healing guides her work today at Me-Therapy.
In her free time, Emy loves to ride motorcycles with her partner and play with her epic cat, Cleo. She’s a devoted fan of the Wheel of Time book series, but worried Amazon’s going to screw up the TV version. Emy also loves pizza, but she’s a firm believer that the best slice can be found in her home state of New Jersey, not New York, and most definitely not Florida (despite continuing taste tests).
